Aside from the first heartbreak in her life, Kat also became very self-conscious about her looks, completely pushing back the idea of being in love, while implicitly fantasize about being in a loving relationship by watching tons of romance movies. After coming back, Kat couldn't fit in any of her clothes, so she tried to minimize the change, by wearing multiple layers of sweatshirts, but this proved to be unhelpful. During the 6th grade, she got in her first relationship with a boy named Daniel Dimarco, who treated her kindly, like texting her before going to bed or waiting for her outside of school every day, so they could walk together through the hallway while holding hands. Kat had a peaceful and relatively good childhood, without any trauma or complications.
